1937 The Hobbit first edition, second impression, unique binding, ex lib, no dj, book, book average to good with some splitting, tear on page 13 with minimal or no text loss, some foxing and minor discoloration, slightly cocked. spine and cover rubbed, Unique cover does not appear to be a rebinding or have any repairs done to it? This second impression had over 400 copies destroyed by German Bombing and had sparatic bindings thru til 1940, We are unsure about the book cover as it is not the common cover and the glint print on spine is faded and rubbed to the age appropriate look, perhaps as this spent most of it's life at the library that this is a unique Library copy. The Spine also has imprinted on it in the exact faded print "J398" Very nice one for the collector!
